Design/Build is an ancient approach to construction which is making a resurgence in the home construction industry. The Partheon and the Theatre of Dinoysus were both constructed using the Design/Build approach. Utilizing one source for the design, engineering, and construction aspects only makes sense.

We like to begin work with our clients at the earliest stages of the home building process. This may include assisting with finding a suitable building location and then designing the home to this location, designing to a location which has already been purchased, or finding a suitable location for a specific design type. Often the design process includes our learning about the client so we can best suit their new home to their needs. This approach can save many thousands of dollars.

Design:

We discuss your needs, desired elements, options, and expectations. We then combine the design and estimating phases. The budget will be known and considered during design. If any doubts arise, an estimate can be put together for the item(s) in doubt. This enables us to work within your budget and give you the most home for your money. At Home Conceptions we strive to avoid misconceptions.

Want this, don’t want that. Will this look odd? What colors go together? Our CADD system enables us to not only change sizing and structure quickly but rendered views are only a mouse click away. You can actually view your home in 2D, 3D, various overviews and we can even put your furniture (to scale) into the model. Most all questions and concerns can be addressed easily before any work has commenced. This ability saves everyone involved time, money and frustration.

Code Compliance:

We produce complete building plans which show compliance with the MUBEC (Maine Uniform Building & Energy Code).  Time is taken to calculate the loads of the structure and specify the appropriate sizing & type of member required. Our plans are intended  for construction specifications – not only for informational and illustrative purposes.

 Build:

Our sequence of construction, selection of materials, suppliers and subcontractors follows proven building practices and insures quality. By utilizing singular control over the construction of your home we are able to guarantee price, timely completion, our highest quality and warranty on your home.
